My computer died! I was typing away last night and then *poof* it shut off. The monitor works, just the computer died. It won't turn on again. Makes me very sad.
EEP!! I'm sorry. :( It sounds like the power supply, perhaps. Do any of the lights or anything come on? If not, it might just be the power supply. Power supplies are cheap and easy to replace, so long as you can find one that's the same physical dimensions.
No lights, no nothin. I thought I blew a fuse or something, but everything else still worked. Glad to hear it's likely a simple and cheap problem to fix! You're so handy to have around :D
Well, the only real problem is that that's an unusual case, so finding a power supply that fits may not be trivial. But it might be no problem at all. Whoever you got to install your modem can probably look into it for you, or at least help you remove the existing power supply so you can bring it in to a store and say, "I need one like this."
