I'm about two seconds away from ripping out my co-host's jugular with my bare hands. It's over such a small issue, but it's driving me absolutely nutty. We've always had a rule at the station that the current temperature should be from the sign on the building's roof so if someone driving by the station hears us saying what the temp is, it should match what they see. However, George doesn't like the sign, and thinks somehow that getting the temperature off the weather network (which gets ITS readings from the Windsor airport) is a far better idea. So all morning, I've been saying it's 26/79, and he says it's 23/74, and whenever he reads the currents, he always makes a point of saying something like "well, according to MY thermometre, it's 23 degrees right now." It's not so much that we're a few degrees off from one another, but that he's making such a point of letting our listeners know (think) he's right and I'm wrong. It makes me furious. Thanks for trying to ruin my integrity, buddy. I know this is an issue that has concerned management for months now, and Paul has promised me it will be the main discussion of their managers meeting later this morning.

I need a straightjacket, I need a padded room...dear GOD I need a vacation! Paul just told me George approached him during my last newscast and said I have some 'anger issues' and he hopes I am able to deal with them while I'm away and come back without the attitude I've had lately. Riiiight.

My I'm posting a lot today - it'll stop soon, I swear!
But I just got out of a meeting with Paul and Walter (assistant GM) about the whole temperature issue, which they are now raising in another meeting with George. Paul and I were telling Walter about George's "well, according to my thermometre..." comment, and Walter said "Where is his termometre? Shoved up his ass?"
I haven't laughed so hard in ages.
