Monday Monday
Oct. 7th, 2002 08:07 amI'm SO tired today! It's so hard waking up on Mondays, regardless of how much I sleep the night before. And I did sleep rather well last night, despite my cat being absolutely insane, dashing around the apartment - I'm assuming because he was just so damn glad to have me home after being gone all weekend.
Speaking of the weekend, it was a pretty good one. Went to Stratford with my mum Friday night to see King Lear - what an absolutely phenomenal performance! Christopher Plummer, as Lear, was spectacular. I could not say enough great things about this show if I went on for a million years. King Lear is probably my second favourite Shakespeare play, but hands down was my favourite performance I've ever seen at Stratford.
Saturday mum and I went back to the big city. After driving around with my dad a bit that afternoon, he informed me there was something desperately wrong with my car (I knew something was wrong, and wanted to get his opinion before paying a bazillion dollars to get whatever was wrong fixed) so off we went to find a mechanic. Went to Midas, paid over $300 to have my break something-or-others and pads replaced, only to be told I also need to get my right front wheel bearing replaced as well, and who knows how much that's going to cost, but they didn't have any parts there to do it, so it had to wait until I was back in Chatham. I've got to give Toyota people a call later this morning. Why do car repairs have to be so damn expensive?? Is a mechanic's time really worth so much more than mine?
Spent Saturday evening at Terry's place, which was lovely. He made me dinner - lemon chicken, couscous and a salad. We watched a few movies, played some video games - I am in love with Grand Theft Auto!
Sunday, Heathy and Marshie came over to watch some slides as a preview for their upcoming trip to New Zealand. Lots of fun for the Brady women, not so much for poor Marshie.
Anyway, good weekend. Fun times all round (with the exception of the car stuff, of course)
