Jun. 2nd, 2003 04:27 amIt's over! *happy dance* The stinkin Jaycee Fair is finally over. Five days of sheer hell. Well, most of it was actually pretty fun. I worked the bar Wednesday through Saturday, and Sunday was tear-down day (taking down the fence, emptying the bar, and general cleaning up) Despite being there for six hours yesterday, I still missed the main cleaning up part because the carnies didn't want to leave until the crowd had dispersed. The fair was supposed to close at 4 or so, but when they hadn't shut down by 6, I said fuck it and left.
I'd say it was a pretty successful fair - good crowds each day except Saturday (it was cold and rainy). No major injuries (I got a massive splinter yesterday - damn thing was over an inch long and buried pretty deep in my hand), and the cops only had to be called in once (we had a big fight during the Much Music video dance on Saturday night.) But after five days of constant activity, I'm exhausted. With moving and the fair, it's been a while since I've been able to go home from work and not have anything major to do. I think I'll do nothing today! Yee haw.
Thought for the day: "Don't be the whitest person at your prom!" (roadside sign at Kokomo's on St Clair - it's a tanning place for those of you who don't know)
