I have a new mattress! *happy dance* Got home from work, tired, hot, achy, fell onto my deflating air mattress and wanted to die. Slept, rather uncomfortably for a bit, got up, walked into the living room and saw a flier sitting on the coffee table. What do you know, the Sleep Factory is having a mattress sale. So off I go. Walk into the store, super nice sales guy, Steve, shows me around, gives me the lowdown on every mattress he has, shows me a really nice and super comfy one ("our most popular mattress") but sadly it's $450 without tax - with tax it'd be over $500 - that is so totally out of my price range for just a mattress it's not even funny but hoy boy it's a comfy mattress. I looked and felt very sad. Steve said "Well I'll tell you what - and remember I don't work on commission, so I don't want to pressure you into buying something you don't want or need - if you buy this mattress, I'll give it to you for the same price as the blue one over there (of lesser quality), plus if you're going to pick it up yourself, I'll knock another $50 off the price." The other mattress cost $350 without tax. So I am now the proud owner of a super nice comfy $450 mattress at the bargain basement price of $300. No tax, no nothing. And my next visit, I get a two for one deal on sheets. How I love sheets. And how I love Steve. I've no doubt they probably mark up their prices and are always able to knock a bunch off, but still. I have a mattress :D Good bye back pain (and good bye $300, but what the hell)
