Yesterday was Family Literacy Day and I was invited to go to one of the local nursery schools and read to the kids. Got there just as the woman was telling them that "Robyn from the radio" was coming to visit them, and when I was introduced to them, they all stood there looking at me with these big-eyed mouth open stares - kind of reminded me of the Simpsons episode where Marge is in the musical version of Streetcar Named Desire and Homer goes to pick up Maggie from the daycare and all the little babies are sitting on the floor sucking away at their soothers, staring at him - very eerie.
Anyway, there were about 15 or 20 kids, all very well behaved and listened intently to my two stories (one about a kid who ran a egg and spoon race and kept running for a year, and another about 10 little ladybugs) There was this one girl, Kennedy, who came up to me after and said "You didn't read my book" and looked so sad (they each brought in their favourite books and their teacher gave me two of them to read) and I said I was really sorry, asked her which book it was, and said maybe I could read it to her some other time. And she just lit up like a frickin light bulb and said "Yeah! Yeah you could come to my house and I could show you my room and you could read me my book and then I could show you my toys and my mummy would make you supper and maybe you could sleep over and then maybe you could read to me more!"

1. Scan through my interest list and pick out the one that seems the most unusual to you.
2. I'll elaborate.
3. Then you post this in your journal so others can ask about your interests.

I stopped by Zellers this afternoon to get some toilet paper and see if they had any kind of cute little summer hats to wear on the cruise (I used to have a black sun hat but seem to have misplaced it in my numerous moves over the last few years), got the toilet paper and also bought a pair of boots. They're awesome - high heels, dark burgundy, pointy toes - the kind of boots I usually stick my nose up at because they're so bad for your feet and who in their right mind would wear shoes that are so bad and so high and so silly......well, me apparently. They're frickin HOT. Seriously I feel super sexy in these boots. Tee hee. (plus they were cheap - $19.95)
