The moving is done! What a relief, although my back is killing me today - I think I may have pulled something yesterday. Fun stuff. Now all that's left to do is go back to the old place today and clean up a bit and baby, I'm gone! It's a very nice feeling to know I'm about 12 hours away from being totally settled in my new place with no more ties to the old one.

After the moving yesterday, I came back to the station to drop off the van and went out for dinner with Mike. I asked the waiter what kinds of non-caffeinated drinks they had (since I would soon have to go to bed) and he said "uh, water." I laughed and asked for a Sprite, and both he and Mike told me Sprite has caffeine in it. I laughed and said nu-uh, and they both told me any kind of pop has caffeine in it. NU UH!! So I've spent a good chunk of my morning so far trying to find a list of ingredients online, just did, and oh big shock, Sprite does not contain any caffeine. I was surprised to see Minute Maid Orange does. Weird.

You were looking at a US Website.

The only drinks, in Canada, which can have caffeine are those where the natural ingredients contain caffeine (i.e. effectively: just Cola). Such drinks can have MORE caffeine added, but you can't add caffeine where none existed before.

In the US, no such law exists.

Mountain Dew, in the US, has more caffeine than Coke. Tell an American that Canadian Dew has no caffeine and they'll probably react the same way I react to de-alch beer... "What's the POINT?"

The only drinks in Canada that have caffeine are colas and the occasional tricky energy drink, and of course all brands of Jolt. No citrus beverage has it.

Thank you for the information! I was darn sure there was something in Canada that made it so only coke-type drinks had caffeine. I knew about the Mountain Dew thing, and tried to use that in my argument last night, but since I didn't know the specifics about WHY it's not like that here, he wouldn't accept it.
