newschick | Sooooo sleepy

I'm now on my second day of less than three hours of sleep. This really isn't working for me, and there's no excuse at all for last night. I didn't get a nap after work because of the go-kart thing (more on that in a second), didn't get home until after 4:30 and by 6:30 was downright exhausted so I went to bed. I slept for maybe 20 minutes, then woke up and couldn't get back to sleep until after 11:30. I need sleep. Why oh why won't my body let me sleep??
But on a happier note, the go-kart thing was totally awesome. Got there in time for the champagne reception (with real champagne - not bad for 11:30 in the morning), stood around and chatted with various people, had a really yummy lunch (roast beef, salads, asparagus ham rolls in some sort of delicious cream sauce...mmmmm!), played a round of mini-golf, then took a few turns around the go-kart track, and came home with a little gift pack. And since I had to do stories on the whole thing, I get to charge overtime too! Yeehaw :D
Tonight I have to go to the Business after Hours thingy (it's a chamber of commerce mixer thing), so that's more overtime. I've never gone ot one of these before and I'm a little nervous - I hate mingling. Luckily I'm not going alone - Mike's hosting it and I've been asked to go as his lovely assistant or something.
Oh yeah, my underwire broke and is now stabbing me in the ribs. Lovely.
