Back from vacation, feeling rested, refreshed and revived...well, close to it anyway. Had a little trouble falling asleep last night when I got in - after a week of sleeping in til 7:30 and not going to bed til 11, it's hard to get back into the morning shift. Also, we had a brief power outage last night right after I got in. Luckily the power came back on before I went to bed, so I could re-set my alarm, but I was all worried that it would go off again while I was asleep and I'd be late for work, so I woke up 6 or 7 times throughout the night. Oh well, shouldn't be too long before things are back to normal again.
My little trip home was quite nice - spent lots of time with the family, saw lots of old friends, went to the ROM with Heathy. I was glad to come back to Chatham (imagine!) though, and get back to my own life again.
And just to make me feel right at home, my darling co-host has made several robin jokes already this morning ('oh look, the robins have returned to CFCO' 'we've got our own spring robin right here in the studio' etc) and also said Canadians are in mourning after the passing of Queen Elizabeth the First this weekend - now correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't she die several hundred years ago?

Well, youse guys are the only Commonwealth nation (a set that inclues the UK, even) that I know of that still celebrates Queen Victoria's birthday (aka May Two-Four), so I guess it's not inconceivable that Canadians might be mourning Elizabeth the First.

Dern the dern royalists.

Well, May 2-4 also falls right around MY birthday too, so I've always figured the country is celebrating that more than anything ;)
