So much for rested and refreshed. Well, I'm more well rested than I should be after sleeping in an extra hour. Course the refreshed part goes right out the window after being shocked awake by the phone ringing and hearing my boss say 'So...think you might want to come to work today?' Gah! I've been worrying about sleeping in late ever since I started the morning shift and now it's happened. I checked my alarm and it seems to be working fine - I guess it went off like usual and I slept right through it. Great. And to add to a simply wonderful morning, the computers crashed again, meaning a morning of reading off paper and no updated news. Luckily, the system in the booths went down before it did in the newsroom for some unknown reason and I was able to take my audio clips off the newsroom system and tape them into our old DAD system in time for the 6 o'clock news. There's just about nothing worse than an eight minute newscast without any audio - I need to stop and swallow some time!
But despite being late and having no computers, it's been an ok morning. On a brighter note, I got an email from my old college teacher this morning asking if I'd be able to come to the school in a few weeks and speak to his latest batch of journalism students - he says I'm the most successful grad from my class and I've got a lot of knowledge and experience to share. Go figure! I don't believe it's true for a second, but still, yay me :)

Sorry to hear your day had a rough start... and thank you for adding me. I will email you soon... : )

I took Journalism (Print) at the college here in Windsor many years ago... but I was more interested in Photojournalism, which was up in Toronto, but I couldn't make the move unfortunately. I ended up leaving Journalism in the second year, and taking Civil Engineering (what was I thinking!)... I remember one semester when we would have people from out in the field come into our class to talk to us too ! Unfortunately, it was when I really felt like leaving the program. I guess they didn't make me feel any better about being there. I still love photography though, and it's something I'm still very passionate about.

Just wanted to say that I'm so glad to be able to read your posts... : )and thank you once again.
