I love my job

I was just sitting in the newsroom checking out my sister's updated website and started reading her story about the REM street concert last May (was it really almost a year ago?) and couldn't stop smiling. It was such a great day, and reading Heathy's story brings back so many wonderful memories. And the first thing about it that makes me grin - I was one of the first to know. Who knew that coming back from a school board meeting that fateful night, I'd find such exciting news in the fax machine - REM making their only North American stop in Toronto for a free street concert. This job is doing wonders for my career, if not my bank account, but it's got so many great little bonuses - free dinners when family comes to town, tickets to Cake, tickets to the Stratford Festival, free passes to Wonderland (going to have to make use of those this summer!), and getting secret news releases days before the general public knows a thing about them.
