So another annual Sledge hockey game is done and man am I ever sore today!! My upper arms are very very stiff, but I think the most painful spot I have is on my lower back. I don't think I stayed upright for more than 30 seconds during the entire game. I just couldn't stay balanced - I'd go to push myself forward and roll onto my side. Get upright, and a few seconds later I'd roll onto the other side. It was ridiculous! The photographers from two of the local papers were at the game, and I'm afraid my toppled over ass may show up somewhere today. I found out as we were getting off the ice after losing 7-1 that they gave me one of the advanced sleds. Most sleds have the blades (did I mention yesterday the sleds have blades on the bottom to skate along?) at the edges, but mine had both right in the middle to make it go faster and provide better mobility for quick turns and the like. I am not an advanced player. Nor am I a small child. The two do not make for a good fit in the advanced sled. The fire chief came out and played on the media team - I think he and I spent more time trying to help each other get upright than we did chasing the puck. But man did we ever have a lot of fun!
