Feeling much better today - gotta love the mood swings, eh? Lisa's leaving wasn't nearly as sad as I thought it would be. I did get a little weepy, but not in front of anyone, and long before Lisa even came into work. I'm very proud of myself, big weenie that I am.
Got a nice confidence boost yesterday, career-wise. I sent off a tape to CFNY a week or so ago, no specific jobs, they're just updating their talent banks, and I figured what the hell. When I got home from work yesterday there was a message from the program director telling me how great he thought my tape sounded, I've got a fantastic read, and that although there's nothing open for me right now, he did say that maybe one day there would be a place for me on their team. Yay me!!!
I went for a nice walk yesterday afternoon around Mud Creek (That's what the drain's called Heathy - aptly named, don't you think?) It was pretty warm and muggy, but there was a nice breeze so it wasn't so bad. I must remember not to wear shoes with backs when taking long walks on hot days - my heels are now covered in blisters. No more shoes for me.
Not much planned for the weekend - Arlene and Rod might be coming to town tomorrow, so we'll have to find something fun to do. Who knows, maybe I'll have people over. It's cooled down quite a bit (yesterday's high - 34, today's high - 24) so maybe it wouldn't be too hot and uncomfortable with many people in my little apartment. We'll see. In the meantime, Seamus has to go to the vet today and woo boy won't that be a treat!
