HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

New Year's Eve was a total blast - went over to Matt's place for a little party. Much alcohol was consumed, many laughs were had - all in all a pretty good night. Just for fun, Chris and I tried to distract people when the midnight hour approached, but it didn't work terribly well since we forgot to turn the volume on the tv down, and were then pelted by pretzels and bits of cheese ball. After convincing Matt that it was not a good time to go to Windsor to hit the casino, I hitched a ride with some people taking Red Nose, and was tucked safely in my own bed by 3:30. Good times!

New Year's Day was nice and relaxing. Slept til noon, had some lunch, watched my new extended version of the LOTR, Fellowship of the Ring (but now that I think about it, I forgot to watch the bonus footage at the end), talked to a few people on the phone, and despite the thunderous noise from upstairs, got to sleep nice and early.

Looking back, 2002 was a pretty good year for me - had its ups and downs, but overall, I have no major complaints. Can't wait to see what adventures 2003 brings.

Oh Jesus!

It's a damn good thing I didn't end up hosting a new year's party at my place - my landlord seemed to be having a bit of a breakdown that night! It was very strange. I guess it was around 5 or so when it started - I was laying in bed trying to have a nap and heard strange noises coming from upstairs, so I went into my living room to try and figure out what the hell was going on. He was crying - sobbing and wailing and shit. From the sounds of it, his girlfriend broke up with him. He was going on and on "Oh Jesus...oh Jesus, help me! I know you made the females and oh Jesus, I know you made one for me. Oh please help me Jesus, I'm so lonely. Where is the female you made for me?" (How I wish he would put extra insulation in my ceiling - I don't WANT to hear him so well!) He went on and on for about an hour, crying and pacing around, then he left for a while, came back and continued with the "Oh Jesus, oh please Jesus help me" lament. Kind of freaked me out. He seems to be over it now though since he had a rather rowdy party last night.
