Fred Rogers, a champion of children's television, has died of cancer at the age of 74.
For more than 30 years, millions of children were invited to visit ``Mister Rogers' Neighbourhood.''
Rogers -- an ordained Presbyterian minister -- produced the program in Pittsburgh.
It aired from 1968 to 2000, although reruns are still on the air.

Gary, the sports guy, has been bitching at me all morning because I was 'too hard' on the handicapped kids we played sledge hockey against. I was in goal for a bit, let in one shot, stopped three, and was pretty proud of myself mainly for actually staying upright for more than two minutes. Despite the fact the kids beat the crap out of us, and by the time I got in goal were up 2-1, apparently I was supposed to just sit there and not even try to stop any shots. Excuse me for taking them seriously, for knowing damn well they were good players and were already humiliating us able-bodied adults. Forgive me for not patronizing them.
