Fred Rogers, a champion of children's television, has died of cancer at the age of 74.
For more than 30 years, millions of children were invited to visit ``Mister Rogers' Neighbourhood.''
Rogers -- an ordained Presbyterian minister -- produced the program in Pittsburgh.
It aired from 1968 to 2000, although reruns are still on the air.

I was sad. But I was also sad because on 680 News, they called him an icon to "baby boomers" everywhere. I must protest being referred to as a baby boomer.

Also on 680, the reporter said that children used to spend saturday mornings with him. But I'm pretty sure he was on weekdays, every day.

Baby boomers?? Call and complain! And yeah, I remember it on weekday afternoons. When was the Friendly Giant on? Was he a weekend thing?
