Maybe I'm missing something
May. 26th, 2003 04:43 amThere's a story on the wire this morning about a guy from Calgary being given an award by the Canadian Blood Services. This guy, Glenn Austin, has donated about 300 litres of blood since 1967, and according to the story, has given about once every WEEK since the early 70s. At first I thought it was just a mistake, it must be once every month, not week. But Broadcast News has sent down a couple of versions of this story this morning, and it's always the same.
How can this be? It's not even safe to donate more than once every 56 days. How can the CBS honour this guy for risking his own health? How could they have even let him donate that often? I'm all for giving blood, but this is ridiculous!
