Doing a little bartering with one of my fellow newsies. She needs a futon, I've got a futon, but would like to get rid of it and get a real bed. Newsie girl wants to buy my old futon, which would then free me up to buy a bed. There's an Ikea bed I've had my eye on - it matches my dresser (also from Ikea, oddly enough) and doesn't need a box spring, which is good because I only have a mattress. I just found out you can buy Ikea stuff online and have it delivered. I'm in so much trouble....my poor battered credit card!!

Took a spur of the moment trip down to Windsor today to try to find a Christmas party dress. I remembered being at Devonshire a few months ago with my darling friend aphraeldanae and seeing a ton of gorgeous dresses in one store. So I figured hey, they had nice dresses then, they're *bound* to have lots now, especially being the festive party season and all. What did I find? Diddly!! Every store I went into had gorgeous dresses up to size 9, then a bunch of frumpy mother-of-the-bride dresses. I scoured Devonshire, nothing. Went to the outlet mall, nada. Came back to Chatham and went to the mall, the strip mall, and the other strip mall - ZILCH. I did find one dress at Winners of all places that was really nice and the right size, but it's got those little spaghetti straps, and just doesn't look right on me. (what would be perfect is if I had the jacket my mum got me for Christmas in New Brunswick - I wanted to buy it myself, but she insisted on getting it for me so she's have something saved up) Why oh why can I not find a nice dress to wear to the stinking Christmas party???
