Cause I'm so bloody bored!
Sep. 4th, 2004 10:21 amAnswer the questions below and post it in your LJ to see how wide the generation gap truly is.
1. JFK was assassinated (1963): not born
2. Man first landed on the moon (1969): not born
3. Watergate broke (1972): still not born
4. 3-Mile Island occurred (1979): I was four years old - no memory of it at all
5. John Lennon was assassinated (1980): just starting grade 1 - no memory of it
6. The Shuttle Challenger exploded (1986): I was in grade six, at school for band practice. One of the kids laughed because a teacher was on board.
7. The Berlin Wall came down (1989): I remember it happening, but it didn't really have much of an impact. I remember watching it on tv, but that's about all.
8. 9/11 (2001): Now we're talking - It was my first year working in Chatham, I was still doing reporting and weekend anchoring, but that day I was supposed to fill in for our regular afternoon girl on CFCO, who was going to cover some agricultural fair (and BOY was she ever pissed off about being sent out on a gay assignment on the biggest news day of her life) I remember standing in the newsroom watching the towers fall and trying not to think about the people inside. I had to cover school board that night too, and sitting around with the other reporters waiting for things to start we were all wondering why the hell they hadn't canceled the meeting. I brought pizza back for Lisa and Arlene, who stayed late because explosions were going off in Afghanistan and everyone thought it was the start of the war.
Did you see the following movies in the theatre (or were at least around)?:
1. Sound of Music (1965): not born
2. The Godfather (1972): still not born
3. Star Wars: Episode 4 (1977): I was only 3 so I doubt I saw it in theatres, but you never know. I don't remember when I saw it either way
4. Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981): theatre
5. E.T. (1982): saw it at the theatre in New Brunswick with my sister and my grandfather.
6. Braveheart (1995): Although this is one of my all time favourite movies, I don't think I saw it until it was out on video.
7. Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001): Saw it at the theatre in Chatham with my ex. I saw the little blinky light at the top corner of the screen when the guy's supposed to switch reels, and I thought "oh Christ, it's only half over!" I'm a much bigger fan now.
1. What year did you graduate high school? 1993
2. What did you wear to your graduation (under your robe/gown)? didn't have a gown, wore a floral dress.
3. Was your hair long or short? short for the actual grad ceremony, but long through most of high school. I had it cut for graduation and it was the worst hair cut I'd ever had.
4. What was the first concert you went to? Gowan at the Ontario Place Forum, don't remember when it was though.
5. Do you still know your high school's alma mater? didn't have one that I can remember
6. Were your Physical Ed. classes co-ed? in grade school I think they were co-ed, but in high school it was all girls.
