Is it so hard? Does it take so much out of you? Be positive for the love of god!! I'm SO sick and tired of my co-host complaining about everything. Here's what's wrong with the world today - the entire country is going to hell in a handbasket because the finance minister quit (got fired, depending on who you ask), it's too damn cold, it rains too much, the Skydome was officially opened on this day in 1989 and it's already outdated -"Why can't anyone build anything that lasts like they used to in the good old days?", and today's main beef of the day - those darn explorers! I read a story about two female explorers who made history by becoming the first to reach both the north and south poles as part of all-female expeditions. His comment - "Why do people feel the need to do that? Climb this, explore that, just stay home and watch tv like the rest of us! I just don't like how we have to pay for it all the time - you know the majority of those people get lost or hurt or whatever and then WE the taxpayers have to foot the bill to get them out." My comment to him (which I will undoubtedly get in trouble for later this morning) "Well it's not coming out of your pocket, so what do you care?" His response "Well....whatever...news and sports coming up next." Moron.

I've often thought what a nuisance to society those pesky explorers can be... sticking their flags everywhere, and boy do those dogsled teams make a mess...

It's true. Really they should have bamboo shoved under their toenails every time they even think of going anywhere!

This is so strange that you mentioned that remark about the explorers... I was late for work today, so I caught that, and was sitting in my car at a red light, thinking to myself... that you really shouldn't be working with such an ass... There's such extremes between you... and he always sounds like he's in a different world.

I've done a lot of climibing out west, and a lot more reading about situations like that... and it is a hot topic in a way.. but his comment didn't even have a place in that discussion..

*sigh*

I really feel for you in that city sometimes... I always think of you as this glowing torch of energy, surrounded by a swamp... : / so much life in you... so much beauty... I was just so glad to see this post, because I thought about his remark about 5 times at work today...

*hugs you close....*

Yeah, he's a moron. He's got a negative comment for just about everything. I have such a hard time talking with him on air - it's practically impossible to relate to him. He's also the station's program director, and we're all hoping one day soon he'll admit that he hates doing mornings and give himself an afternoon shift or something and stick mainly to administrative stuff. Or maybe he'll get whacked by a passing train. Hey, a girl can dream, can't she? ;)
