We leave for the cruise in five days - I'm a horrible packer and am always worried that I've forgotten something important. So tell me:
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

Sunscreen.
Some books.
Your passport.
A bathing suit.
Extra-strength tylenol.
A digital camera with lots of memory or a regular camera with lots of film.
Any scuba or swimming gear you might have.
Comfy walking / hiking gear.
Something reasonably decent to wear if you want to look sharp at mealtimes or plan to catch the in-cruise "entertainment" (cough).
A notebook and a pen (never hurts).
Something to do on the plane.

Umm. *shrug*

K, I think I've got just about all of that. :) I'm not doing too badly!

Oh also, a good rule is to lay out all the clothes you think you might need, and then cut half of it out. People always bring way too much. There's no way you could possibly wear it all.

Also I would take one warm jacket or sweatshirt in case of a chilly evening or something. Hell, I ended up wearing my gloves and winter coat one time in Vegas. You just never know.

Yeah, we've got to bring at least a sweater and a warm-ish coat to wear down there and for coming back. Plus I'm thinking of bringing at least one hoodie for evening time.

Actually, I found dramamine worked really well (and they give it out like candy on the cruise ships).

I've already got a pack of Gravol, but yeah, I've been told not to worry too much about it because it's everywhere on board.

Also also, I think you should have used "Take" instead of "Bring" in this instance. ;)

Thank you, oh Grammar God. I apologize for my ignorance.

Most people have covered what I would have put on the list.

Ointment(s) for burned skin (it's expensive on the ship)

Vitamin E/Aloe Vera

Jacket (if you want to walk around the ship at night, it's a bit chilly outside)

Guides of the islands you're going to - it might help you decide which excursions to go on. We went on 1 excursion per day. It came out to an additional $600 for the two of us, but it was well worth it.

I just found a bottle of ointment I bought in Antigua last year - damn thing was frickin expensive and I'm glad I found it again. Mike burns in a split second and will no doubt need lots of it.

My list when I pack:

pjs (if I don't write it I forget them!)
undies & bras
socks (in case it's cold)
clothes (obviously)
deodorant
sun tan lotion
toothbrush
toothpaste
contact case and solution if you wear contacts
sunglasses
hair stuff (it'll be hot, you'll want it up)
aspirin
snacks for the plane
camera
film

I'm the same as you - the things I'll end up forgetting are the ones I don't see the need to write them down because they're so obvious! How many times have I forgotten deodorant or a hair brush because it never occurs to me to write them down.
