Oh how I cried. I admit I was a little sorry the movie wasn't quite as sarcastic and funny as the show, but I suppose they had bigger issues to deal with. I laughed, I cried, I gasped, I jumped....fuck it was awesome.
Oh poop - I downloaded it at my sister's place, listened to the first few minutes and then we had to go out and I never got around to listening to the rest. And now my own computer is giving itself a fit trying to download it. Does he explain why it's not so funny?
We got him to describe Cap'n Mal...in Nathan's words 'He's a bastard, he's the last guy I'd invite to my party...he's Han Solo without the charm.' I guess the movie was so dark because they have to show the place Mal comes from to the place he gets to where he's willing to die for something he believes in.
Yeah, makes sense. A friend of ours said it seemed as though all the good happy family togetherness feeling they had on the show was gone in the movie, and you could sort of tell in the last episide of Firefly that was the direction they were going in anyway with Inara leaving and all. Mal's more mean, Jayne's more beligerant...
If I heard right the movie takes place 8 months after the last episode of Firefly and in that time River had been getting worse and it had become harder for Mal to find the ship work which he blamed on hiding River and Simon which caused tension.
