I'll be going home in two days, having a few friends over for a barbeque at my parents' place - what the hell do people eat at a barbeque? I figure burgers, potato salad, maybe a garden salad...what about dessert? Are there books on how to have a successful barbeque on a limited budget?
This is ridiculous. Who am I trying to impress, and why?

No, I'm not gonna cancel. I promised Dave I'd make time for him the next time I came home since I've kinda been avoiding him since...well, since I moved back to Ontario. Besides, I wanna meet his girlfriend. And I really do want to see Terry - I think it'll be good for me in some twisted, masochistic way. I'll come to your place on Saturday.

dessert at a bbq could be as simple as fruit salad and ice cream.

ice cream is a simple enough dessert for BBQ... that, or fruit cocktail.

but you have to get an apron with a saying on it... it's a barbeque law.

i tend to wear clothing when cooking... avoids the whole splashing-sauce problem.
