On the plus side, I'd have something to do, be part of the community, get in good with the big boss man, I'd meet new people and also get to see some of my work friends outside of work
On the minus side, it's possible some events could run fairly late in the evening, cutting in to my valuable sleeping time, and a lot of the Jaycee people are total skids
I'm well aware the positives far outweigh the negatives, but I'm still a little wary

Date: 2002-09-17 04:08 am (UTC)This is a bunch of young-ish people (18-42) who do various community events, fundraising stuff - I believe Jaycee stands for Junior Chamber (as in of commerce) - it used to be just for guys, but within the last few years they let chicks join too.
They put on the annual Jaycee Fair, barbeques, and the like.
