Ahh, listeners!
Dec. 31st, 2002 04:21 amIt's not even 4:30 and already a CFCO listener has made my day.
Me: Newsroom, can I help you?
Caller: Yeah, you guys have ads and stuff to call you when we see news stuff going on?
Me: Yup, do you have a tip for me?
Caller: Yeah, there's like...police cars and fire trucks and stuff over at the corner of Queen and Wellington.
Me: (remembering my news director mentioned a fire in that area earlier this morning) Ok, is that right near Cash Advance?
Caller: Dude! How'd you know that??
I'm so used to CFCO listeners that are old and cranky and...well, basically morons who don't know much aside from how to dial a phone. I never knew I had listeners who say dude! :)

Date: 2002-12-31 06:14 am (UTC)with that fire - turns out after police evacuated the apartment's lone tenant, who didn't even know his place was on fire, they went back in and found some stolen stuff and a pot plant - who knows, maybe the 'dude' caller was the guy from the fire and was just too stoned to know what the hell was going on.
