Jan. 6th, 2003 06:56 amIt's snowing again, and my beloved co-host is up in arms. Last week, he had a brief period of optimism, talking about how snow is good because it provides ground cover for the farmers. But today he's back on his usual rant. Our very first break of the morning, he starts off "Well, it's snowing AGAIN...how depressing!" George - it's January. It's SUPPOSED to snow. And this has been a pretty mild winter so far anyway - we've only had what, two or three snowfalls where it's actually piled up. Big freakin deal! Sure, it makes the roads a little slippery, and you have to spend a few minutes dusting off your car, but hell, it looks pretty! I don't understand how this man has gone through 50-odd winters in Canada without slitting his wrists.
In other news, I had a very nice weekend at home. Spent part of Saturday with Heathy and two of our friends/distant relatives, Kathy and Susan. The Sister Summit was a huge success. Heathy made some delicious asparagus soup, and a fun time was had by all. Sue has now flown back to Sweden, and Kath leaves for the Netherlands on Friday. There was some talk on the drive back to their place of a possible second Sister Summit this summer - either in Chatham or New Brunswick.
