What to do?

My mind has been in almost constant turmoil for the past few days. Cindy, the morning girl on CFCO is leaving at the end of the month, and now her position has to be filled either by Lisa, me or someone from outside. Lisa's done the shift before and hates it with a passion, and rumour has it the job is mine if I want it. The thing is, I'm not entirely sure I do! I mean, it would be a great career move, *possibly* more money, and it is the best shift a news person can get around here. But it means getting up at 2:30 every morning, being tired all the time, never being able to do anything in the evenings during the week, and everyone who's done that shift leaves because it's too stressful. Cindy's got ulcers, Lisa was addictedto sleeping and caffeine pills...what the hell's going to happen to me?? I hate not knowing. I wish my boss would just say Ok Robyn, here's what you're going to do and leave it at that.

Hiya Robyn. It must be a difficult decision to make. On one hand you want the experience, but on the other hand it could mess up the way you feel in your life outside work. Stress, over tired, etc. I guess you need to "wait and see" and if you ARE offered it, I guess it is wiser to give it a go than say no and always wonder what could have been. Maybe even give it a go on a trial basis and then you could use the experience to take somewhere else in the future. Best of luck love Katy xx

i agree with webgirluk. if you're offered it, do it on a trial basis first... that'll also give them more time to find someone (either for that spot, or your "old" one).

as for the bad vs. the good... is putting up with hell (or at least heck) for a while worth it, could this be your big break? if the potential upside is worth it, i say go for it. :)
