Mar. 21st, 2003 05:25 amI realize the tendency of journalists to try and make stories sound more impressive - I do it myself - but if that CNN guy (Walter somebody) traveling with the 7th Cavalry says "the giant wave of steel ever pushing northward" one more time I'm going to hurl.

Date: 2003-03-21 03:44 am (UTC)I'm just so sick of the 'giant wave of steel' mostly - he says it every second sentence! If he's so damn imaginative, he should come up with a new phrase - like 'huge honkin convoy of tanks' :)

Date: 2003-03-21 05:19 am (UTC)Did you ever hear the story of a news anchor up here, Avery Haines, who got fired because she made some rather off-colour remarks in a taped segment? It wasn't the bit that supposed to air, but the switcher played the wrong tape. He got a reprimand, she got fired.
