Apr. 25th, 2003 05:20 amI think I may go get me some contacts today. The glasses store in the mall is having a sale of some sort, and since I've been wanting to either get new glasses or contacts, now seems like a good time to make a move. But I'm just not sure what I want. It's been so long since I've worn contacts, and there are so many more kinds to choose from - daily wear, monthly wear, coloured, tinted, etc. The chick said with the sale, I can get six months' worth of contacts plus a free pair of basic glasses. I don't really want or need the extra glasses if I'm getting contacts - I've already got those. I really want contacts, but it bugs me that I'll have to go back in six months and get more. That's damn expensive. Why can't I just get one pair like I used to and wear them forever? Stupid contacts. Plus I need to get an eye exam before I can get anything ordered (although if I get an exam scheduled today, the glasses people will still give me the sale price). Too bad I lost my prescription. I don't get why they can't just use my current glasses to figure out what it is. But ohhh no, gotta get a whole new exam done.

Date: 2003-04-25 04:06 am (UTC)I have heard stories about people using disposable contacts for a really long time by using all the kit and caboodle that come with regular contacts (protein tablets, rinsing solution, etc). I don't know how well that works, and I'm sure your eye doctor would NOT recommend (I'm sure he/she would also be pissed at me for saying I use disposables for longer than the recommended 2 week period), but keep it in mind. :)
