Apr. 29th, 2003 04:24 pmJust came back from the eye doctor guy. Apparently my glasses prescription is too strong for me - go figure. He said sometimes doctors will give you a stronger prescription than you need because things look sharper, but it tends to strain your eyes a bit. The way I figure, if I can see better, what's the problem? But whatever, I guess he's the professional and all.
The receptionist kind of freaked me out a bit. I came in, filled out the form and handed it back to her. One of the questions was Occupation. I put journalist, and she said "You're a journalist? Where do you work?" I said CFCO and she pulled back her chair and gasped. "You're *that* Robyn Brady? You're MY Robyn??" Her Robyn? I said (not being snotty or anything) I wasn't aware I belonged to anyone, but yes, I was that Robyn. She laughed and said she and her girlfriends always talked about me, wondering what I looked like and such and she said I was far more adorable than she pictured. Nice, but weird! She went on for about five minutes, listing off her favourite parts of the show, how she always wanted to call in to play some of our games, but was always too afraid, loves the way George and I laugh at each other, we sound like family, blah blah blah. It was very touching, but still....kinda weird. Oh well, nice to know people like me and stuff!

Date: 2003-04-29 02:02 pm (UTC)That's so funny... "MY" Robyn - I'm imagining she meant that when her friends brought up radio personalities like kids playing Pokemon, you were her personal trump card. :)
Re:

Weird.

Date: 2003-04-30 01:07 am (UTC)But unless you're planning on taking a bit of a road trip, I'm afraid you won't be able to listen. We're not on realaudio or anything fancy like that.

Date: 2003-04-30 01:18 am (UTC)but the nice thing about am is that given the correct atmospheric conditions and an analog tuner... you never know. i've know i have gotten as far as chicago and new york before. (traffic reports that convinced me never to commute by car in either city in the winter time...
