One of the perks of country living - being able to eat asparagus before it even knows it's not in the ground any more :) I had no idea raw asparagus was so good. (and to think [livejournal.com profile] kadenza didn't want to come down this weekend and missed this!) Seriously, you can't buy vegetables at a store that are anywhere near as tasty as the kind you get from a stand beside a field. Can't wait til the corn's up!

New icons!

Now let me know if a) you guys can see the ads on your friends page (I'm really not totally clear on how this sponsor thing works yet) and if you can, b) if it bugs you.

Has anyone tried the sponsored LJ? I want more user pics without having to pay for them, but am afraid of what ads in my journal might look like.

Put together 1 morning show, 3 communities and 27 hours. What do you get? )

It's that time of year - we're heading out this morning for the 3rd annual CKSY Breakfast Bunch 27 hour marathon food drive, with stops at the Blenheim, Chatham and Wallaceburg Sobeys. Last year we raised $11,000 in food and cash, hopefully we'll blow that away this year, despite the looming snow storm.
Wish us luck!!

Today marks the 16th anniversary of the Montreal Massacre. Marc Lepine went on a shooting rampage through Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal in 1989, killing 14 women and injuring 9 others before turning the gun on himself.
Please take a moment today to stop and remember those who lost their lives or lost a loved one that day, and all victims of violence.

Blah
